| A large bipedal being almost completely covered with hair roams the North American forests undetected save for occasional sightings. Human-like in shape, some call it a North American ape, others believe it to be a species more human than ape, while a select few on the outer fringe insist that it's an extraterrestrial drop-off. |
While many eye witnesses, along with inconclusive evidence in the form of many foot prints and a few hair samples, as well as a controversial film shot by Roger Patterson keep the hopes for the existence of such a creature well alive, there are no type specimens and no absolute proof that the creature is real. |
It's a world record folks; no creature rumored to exist has avoided proof of existence any where nearly as long as Bigfoot. The need to believe will be posted in another section at a later time. |
| Has been sighted in all 50 states. |
This is complete hearsay. There is no absolute proof to substantiate such a claim. |
More about sightings will be posted in another section at a later time. |
| Can sense the presence of humans while they are miles away, and is therefore able to flee from them undetected. |
This is pure speculation. Speculation which is damaged and contradicted by the hundreds of claimed sightings and many alleged photographs and films that so many people insist are genuine. |
More about speculation will be posted in another section at a later time. |
| Can travel transdimentionally. |
Science is unaware of any living organism that can travel transdimentionally. |
Fortunately, very few people believe such a claim. |
| Has various paranormal abilities. |
This is based entirely on hearsay, speculation, and a great deal of wishful thinking. Nothing substantiates the claim whatsoever. |
More about the paranormal will be posted in another section at a later time. |
| There are such a large number of footprints, some in extremely remote areas, that not all of them can possibly be attributed to hoaxers. |
Not all the footprints credited to Bigfoot are conclusive; many could be, and probably are bear tracks. Though the number of footprints that cannot possibly be confused with bear tracks or other animals (especially in remote areas) is large enough to be persuasive in the Bigfoot debate, they by no means indicate the existence of the creature. |
If an investigator can happen upon a footprint, a hoaxer could have left it there, no matter how remote the area. |

| St Columba saved a man from the jaws of Nessie by invoking the name of God against the monster. |
The alleged event was recorded by St Adomnan about a hundred years after it is said to have occured. St. Adomnan also records that St Columba sailed across the loch with extraordinary speed against the wind. Go here for more. |
The fact that there is also mention of pagans who attribute the rebuking of the monster to God, leads one to believe that it is simply a fictional story to convince people that the pagans could be converted. |
| There is definitely a creature unknown to science living in Loch Ness. |
Many people suspect that a creature unknown to science is living in Loch Ness, but a great deal of scientific evaluation has shown the possibility to be highly unlikely. Still, some scientists do not consider it entirely out of the question. Go here for more. |
Wishful thinking does not a creature unknown to science make. |
| "Nessie" is probably a plesiosaur or a plesiosaur-like creature. |
All photos depicting a plesiosaur-like creature are highly questionable or proven hoaxes. Everything else is purely hearsay. Mainstream science does not recognize the possible survival of plesiosaurids. The history alone of Loch Ness casts the highest doubt of a plesiosaurid living in the loch. |
There is absolutely no substantial scientific evidence to indicate that plesiosaurs are alive and well. |
| There are large caves connecting Loch Ness to the ocean. |
No reputable scientist has ever made such a claim. |
The Loch Ness deep water caves were created by folks who needed a reason to cling to their belief of Nessie after science and reason obliterated all other avenues allowing for her possible existence. |

| A large prehistoric survivor resembling an apatosaur lives deep in the swamps of the Congo. |
Hearsay and unfounded conclusions based on questionable testimony of indigenous people. There is absolutely no substantial evidence to support a prehistoric survivor resembling an apatosaur. |
First Man - They want to know what Mokele Mbembe looks like from these pictures.
Second Man - These stupid explorers. Point to the dinosaur and let's see what they do. |
| Much of the Congo has not been explored. |
True, much has not been explored by people who are not indigenous to the Congo. But it is quite common for indigenous people to thoroughly explore the area in which they live. |
People native to the Congo area are not stupid. They have been around enough greedy visitors long enough to fully realize that a dinosaur would be financially, or at least materially beneficial to them in no small way. If a prehistoric survivor were out there somewhere, I have no doubt that poachers would capture it one way or the other. |

| Winged creatures resembling a rhamphorhyncus (a prehistoric pterosaur) are said to inhabit the area of Papua New Guinea and some surrounding islands. Some say the creatures glow in the dark. |
Unsupported testimony, the poorest of photos, mock evidence, and obvious hoaxing give this creature's existence zero validity. |
Young Earth Creationists goad twisted or false testimony from the indigenous people, insist that dots of light are flying reptiles, and generally tell bold faced lies in a vain and foolish attempt to disprove evolution. The sky is a very poor place to hide, even at night, and the ropen would be just as visible as eagles and condors, and just as often.
